Week of July 12th

This week was the first week of the transfer. It went pretty good. Our new investigators are starting too progress, and that is so good to see. We had 7 investigators attend church. That was way cool to see as well.

So work is doin well Our companionship is still doin good. Even though I have been with E. Westwood for over 3 months now, :) jokelang. So everything is doin good.

Oh and our branch is doin better too. Our home teaching and visiting teaching are getting under way and our new branch president is awesome. One thing thought is on pdays now we have to maglaba (I don't know if that's correct spelling but that's what it sounds like), wash all our clothes by hand. And it takes a long time and it's hard. It is against the rules now to have a laundry woman, so we gotta do it now. But other than that it's great. sa taas at labas (over and out) haha. elder Pennock

Week of July 5th

On Monday we had a meeting with our branch president and the branch executive secretary. We started to get home teaching scheduled and up and running so for Sunday we could let people know and get everything organized. So that's way good.

On Tuesday we ate dog again, cooked a different way. It was at the same place as last time, it was good.

It has been raining really good some days. it's definitely the rainy season now. And my umbrella is a little small. Everyone says it's so small, it makes them laugh. I don't really fit in it. But it is travel size. And it's sturdy. haha One day, friday, it really came down on us hard. We got soaked. We cover our bags with plastic so they will stay dry.

We taught Batas again. Earlier in the week he drank and was drunk when we went to him, so the next time we wrote down a plan with him from Preach My Gospel, to realize what the effects of drinking is and how he can avoid it and what other alternatives he has. It was really good.

The work is good. We have a ton of investigators just not a lot of them are progressing. We have so much we got to rearrange our schedule a little bit this week and will have to go to some people not as often. I really hope we can get some to progress and keep commitments and go to church.

Well that's pretty much it for this week. Oh and this week was the last week of transfer. And we found out today none of us are transferring. So I am still with E. Westwood for another 6 weeks =) kagaya sinabi ko kanina. iyan lang para sa linggo na ito. ayos pa, humihinga pa at masaya pa. mahal ko kayong lahat. ingat Elder Pennock

Week of June 28th

On Tuesday after district meeting we had lunch at Sis. Jane's, our laundry lady. There is 4 of us in our district, i Filipino and 3 Americans. We 3 Americanos ate dog. It wasn't bad. We also had good chicken too which the Filipino only ate. I am pretty sure that was the first time I ate dog.
On Wednesday we had a CSP at another elementary school in Alaminos. All of us missionaries and some leaders from the district cleaned and re-did a classroom. It was fun. We cleaned it, painted it, and put up chalkboards.
On Thursday we did district exchanges, Elder Berueta came down to Bani to work with me, and E. Westwood went up to Bolinao to work with E. Larson. It was cool. E. Berueta was brand new to the area so I really had to lead unlike the exchanges last time with E. Reyes. So I was talking a lot too. To the investigators and the members, I was surprised that I was having conversations with all of them and understanding. It was sweet!
On Friday we had interviews and a cooking challenge with the zone. In my interview, Pres said the key is the Book of Mormon. If the investigators don't want to listen any more, just commit them to read the Book of Mormon, then they will come to know the truth. So that was really good what he said. The cooking challenge was to cook a healthy meal in 10 min. Bani district cooked pakbet, and the 100 islands district cooked squash with eggs. The 100 islands dist. won cuz we bought our veggies precut. Then after interviews the assistants to the president went on splits and E. Erispe went with me and E. Westwood. It was awesome. E. Erispe is way cool.
Then on Friday we had a busy day. We dropped E. Erispe off in Alaminos then returned to Bani to clean the chairs at the church with some youth, then went up to the Bolinao for a baptism interview. Crazy morning cuz after that we went to work in Bani. But it was good, on the way up to Bolinao we rode an air conditioned bus, it was so nice.
This Sunday was fast and testimony. It was good, there were a lot of great testimonies and not much of a long break either as there usually is. :) A lot of great youth bore their testimonies.
Everything is goin good. I am gettin better in tagalog like I said earlier with the exchanges. And some things are getting easier to say in Tagalog than English so if you start seein some Tagalog in my writing or bad English. Sorry. =) Ingat. Mahal ko kayo. E. Pennock
